News: The North Alliance Moves into the US market with Nansen

Acoustic’s parent company, The North Alliance (NOA) acquires the Swedish/American digital development and communication company Nansen. Nansen has over 100 employees in Stockholm, Chicago and New York. – ”During the last two years we have built a group of companies with a solid presence in Scandinavia, and with bridgeheads into the US and Singapore.

This acquisition fulfills our goal of taking a leading position in the Nordics and to have a solid platform that we can use to take the Nordic digital- and communication expertise global,” states Thomas Høgebøl, CEO of The North Alliance. Nansen will strengthen NOA’s digital offering in the Swedish market and will, together with the NOA group’s largest subsidiary, Making Waves, become a strong entity in the Nordics.

CEO of Nansen, Michael Jäderlind comments: “We believe technological skills will become even more important in the future of brand communication and are positioning ourselves accordingly. Nansen is also completely compatible with NOA’s largest company Making Waves, and this is one of the main reasons why we have great faith in this constellation.

We are now building a Nordic – American bridge to incorporate the expertise of customers and employees in both regions. Companies like Nansen and Making Waves are at the heart of the customer’s demand today.” Nansen was established in Sweden and has many of the best known Swedish companies among its customers. Over the last few years, Nansen has also expanded into the US alongside some of its largest international customers. Nansen is today one of the fastest growing digital agencies in the US, and the US operations currently accounts for about half of the company’s revenues.

A new global player The acquisition of Nansen will help NOA fulfil its vision of creating a group of companies that can compete with the global networks like WPP, IPG, Omnicom, and Publicis on communication- and digital development projects in the Nordic region and globally. The acquisition will be financed through a combination of internal funds and a new share offering. The transaction will be earnings accretive and will further increase NOA’s bond covenant head-room.
